The Prostate Zero 5krun/walk around Minneapolis's Lake Nokomis on Sept 20th was a huge success.
We were able to have a booth with educational materials and fun handouts. Folks of all ages sported blue mustaches and glitter blue ribbon stickers thanks to UMCSUNA.
Our Team "SUNA or later" had 12 participants, surpassing our goal of 8. We were also the 4th largest team this year!
The Stevens Point US Too Prostate Cancer Support Group meets annually for their 'Pints for Prostates' event at the Stevens Point Brewery, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Last September, over $500 was raised for prostate cancer education. Pints for Prostates is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization focused on awareness. Proceeds raised go to support organizations that help in the fight against prostate cancer.
The Stevens Point prostate cancer support group chapter leader Michelle Radke (UMC SUNA member) has been volunteering with the support group for over 17 years - supporting men and their families with help from US Too International Prostate Cancer Education and Support Network. Pints for Prostates, free prostate screenings, and Father's Day Walks, are a few of the community projects the group focuses on.
